With 20+ years of experience as a personal trainer and fitness instructor, I have learned that the learning never ends.
The importance/value of movement…being able to move well, without pain or limitations is something I believe we can all appreciate, especially as our bodies age. The learning on this topic is endless but each course/certification I do peels back another layer of opportunity and deeper understanding.
The more I learn, the more I am equipped help others, including myself.
This last year and half has been a true test for me with my own physical limitations when I broke my back. I have recovered strong and continue to do so. I am incredibly thankful for the fitness and education I had prior, and the team I had behind me. I was really fortunate to connect and work with some great people, professionals and educators in the field. Instead of a major injury becoming a barrier, it became a new focus and goal to conquer.
I am finding my direction and interest is really beginning to shift as I work to specialize even more in movement quality, mobility, fascial systems, corrective exercises, and with active aging populations.
Ultimately my goal is being able to bring this all back and integrate in to classes and personal training as we continue to strengthen and improve our bodies ability to move well. Our posture, joint health, bone density, our muscular strength, balance… it all maters.
Move well and move often.
We are only as strong as our weakest link.
